Account ownership numbers look good on paper. They rarely show who actually controls and uses the account, why people stop using a service, or how trust between users, agents, and providers is won and lost.

I lead and support research and evaluation on digital financial inclusion, with a focus on mobile money and trust in Ghana and West Africa. My PhD developed the Dynamic Rural Trust Model, and my work on who really uses women's mobile money accounts was published with CGAP / FinEquity (World Bank Group).
